Electro-Pop-Rock band seeks drummer
We've got a new electro-pop-rock band, sounds sort of Weezer-meets-Postal-Service-inside-a-Nintendo. (yes, with some chiptune!). We're releasing our debut EP in a couple months, but we've just lost our drummer. We have 5 members currently in the band, so we're only looking for a drummer.
Most gigs will be in Chicago to start off, a few in suburbs or around Midwest, members have played places like Double Door, Elbo Room, Beat Kitchen with previous bands and we expect to with this band, as well as eventual touring.
We have practices once a week minimum in the north suburbs, occasionally more, and play live approximately once a month to begin with. We take our music and our business both very seriously (when we're not doing stupid shit that is fun to do), and only similarly dedicated musicians need apply.
Please only serious inquiries, previous band experience is a must, having a car to get to and from practice is preferred.

Calling All Talented Jamband Musicians!!
Hey everyone :)
So, after over 10 years of gigging alone, or with people that cannot make a permanent commitment, I am forming a band. Here is a little breakdown of my background, what I do, and what I am looking for.
I am a classically trained vocalist. I was trained in opera, but don't let that scare you, I have the ability to "rock out" my voice. I also play the piano and flute. I am also a songwriter, engineer, and I have my own business, Musicgirl Productions doing booking, promotions, and live sound. I am also an actress and dancer, so with all that training, I know how to run a stage, and work a crowd. Even though I am probably one of the most outgoing and personable people you could meet, I am probably more comfortable on a stage than I am talking in person.
I have a very unique style of writing and singing. With that classical training, I am able to do things with my voice that not many vocalists can. I even yodel, LOL. I have a huge range, and I love to belt notes, and get crowds into it.
I have over 1800 songs written, and still write everyday. I think the best way to describe my style is a mixture of Jewel, Dave Matthews Band, and Pink. I know, it sounds strange, but somehow it all fits.
What I am looking for is a rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist, bassist, drummer, and would KILL to have some horns and strings in there as well. I am especially looking for people that also write music, so that there can be collaboration. Especially since this is going to be a jamband, I need people that can break out, and do their own thing.
The best part of it all is that through my business, I have some pretty amazing connections. I need people that can devote at LEAST 3 nights a week for practice. I live on the south side right now, but am looking at practice spaces and such up north. I will also be moving to Bucktown in early November.

drummer needed for metal project
First off, I am not trying to start a "band". I want a drummer to collaborate with so I don't have to resort to using a drum machine. I play guitar and bass and write my own songs. I have rehearsal space here in Clinton that I would prefer to use because I get no noise complaints. Weekends during the days and evenings are good for me right now as far as rehearsal time goes. I am writing music that is along the lines of thrash/speed metal-just basic stuff and nothing fancy. No image, no attitude...I just want someone who can have a good time doing it and eventually get some studio time and record. This isn't a serious thing and I have no aspirations of "making it big" I just want to have fun. This is fast-paced, no frills heavy metal and 2-bass is a plus for sure but you don't have to be anything "fancy".

Female Vocalist looking for good group (Naperville - and area)
I am an experienced female vocalist looking for a band to perform with. I recently relocated from Wisconsin and my existing band and I decided with the distance we would need to replace me.
I sing a wide range of cover tunes including but not limited to songs performed by - Melissa Ethridge, Bonnie Raitt, Evanscence, Tina Turner, Carrie Underwood, Janis Joplin, Joan Jett, Patsy Cline, Aretha Franklin, Trick Pony and more. For a complete list of the songs I have covered you can go to http://www.shortleashband.com/songs I am experienced with backing vocals and harmonies and am able to do 3 and 4 part harmony with other vocalists. I am open to learning new tunes and even working with an originals/cover or all originals band. I have sets of lyrics that I have written that are simply collecting dust at this point in time.
I play percussion (various toys including congas) and am able to solo and call and respond with a drummer or other musicians. I also play keyboards and can learn different parts, though my current soloing skill is not as strong as I would like.
I am looking for a good group of high energy musicians to perform with throughout the area. When performing I move a lot, interact a lot with the audience and get people to scream the song lyrics back to the band.
Of course I have professional gear - Shure wireless mic, 2 secondary wired mics, Roland 550 KB Amp, Nord Electro II, etc etc. Once I begin performing again I will be purchasing in ear monitors. I do not own any PA gear nor do I have any rehearsal space available.
I am able to assist on web-design and have sources for logo design. My previous groups website was completely designed by me and can be viewed at www.shortleashband.com. There are photos on that website along with MP3\'s which were recorded live with a single microphone 30 feet from the stage on the right hand side.

Resurrection Larry Seeks Guitarist
RESURRECTION LARRY. Yep you recognize the band. Named in homage to Chicagoland’s notorious hitch hiking spirit Resurrection Mary! We’ve been a mainstay of the Chicago rock scene for 3 years. We have a very good following of real FANS not friends, not family FANS. We are a very musical all original 4 piece. Drums, Bass, Guitar & Keys. We practice in a comfortable Studio setting just S. of Joliet on I-55 (Stevenson). The majority of our shows are in Chicago and the close in burbs. We are not a practice band, we are a performing band. You or somebody you know have seen us perform.
Our guitar player is relocating to St. Louis. This has resulted in cancellation of several shows. We have held onto September dates in hopes of fulfilling our commitments with a new fourth member.
We currently perform no covers. This is a position for a creative individual who has the melodic technical capabilities of a Gilmour/Howe hybrid. Some of our arrangements are over 10 minutes long. Complex leads are required. Any age any moral disposition as long as you understand it’s about the music and the enjoyment of performing and not about our egos.

***DRUMMER WANTED!!!***
Our band is currently in search of a drummer. We play all original material and have been described as "36 Crazyfists meets Sevendust meets Euro melodic metal with a unique, original twist".
Minimum age is 21 (will possibly reconsider if you are 19-20 and extremely talented). Must have pro gear and be able to play to a click track! Must have a means of transportation. Must be available at least 3 times a week (2 weekdays and 1 weekend, but they can be any days, it's flexible).
No hard drugs. We're humble, laid back guys and we find humor in pretty much everything.
We're heading to the studio in early August to cut a sampler and we have enough material to follow that up with an LP shortly thereafter. We have a rehearsal space, pro gear, pro attitude, and ample experience in previous projects.
We have pre-production tracks recorded and we will send them out to anyone who sends us a serious reply. The band has a name, as well as pretty much everything else you could imagine -graphic designer, web designer, anything promo related- except a drummer. Let's start gigging and tear it up!
